Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort redefines Hunter Valley hospitality with multi-million dollar transformation

Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort in the heart of New South Wales’ popular wine region, the Hunter Valley, is reaping the rewards of a multi-million dollar investment, which will further transform the property into one of the Hunter’s most sought after accommodation, conference, events and wedding destinations.

Part of leading accommodation provider Oaks Hotels & Resorts’ 54-strong property network, Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort has already seen $6 million invested in upgrades since it was acquired by the hotelier in October, 2013.

Now the 100-hectare Resort is undergoing additional improvements to further enhance the overall guest experience, with significant investments costing approximately $4 million allocated to upgrading its villa accommodation, championship golf course, conference and events facilities, common areas, and onsite food and beverage establishments.

Boasting a superb location amongst the Hunter Valley’s sprawling hinterland and just a stone’s throw from the region’s profusion of cellar doors, wineries and vineyards, Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort blends warm hospitality with a rustic charm to create a tranquil resort oasis that appeals to both holidaymakers and business delegates alike.

50 per cent of the Resort’s 136 self-contained One, Two, Three and Four Bedroom Villas have already received a modern makeover, presenting guests with the option to upgrade to a refurbished Deluxe room type when visiting the Resort to experience the new-look accommodation first-hand with the remaining villa’s scheduled to be upgraded over the next 12 months.

Featuring well-equipped kitchens, spacious living and dining areas, and expansive private balconies with breathtaking views across the manicured golf greens, vineyards and spectacular Broken Back Range, rooms have been designed with comfort, convenience and relaxation in mind, complete with timber accents, ambient lighting, a soft, muted colour palette, contemporary furnishings and modern amenities.

Ranked among Australia’s top resort golf courses, Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort’s picturesque 18-hole championship golf course has already received $3 million in course infrastructure upgrades since Oaks Hotels & Resorts acquired it.

A further $1.5 million will be invested into the course over the next three years, which, among other upgrades, will go towards the installation of a state of the art irrigation system and a complete bunker upgrade for the 6,467m, par 72 golf course.

The Resort’s dedicated conferencing and events precinct is undergoing substantial upgrades, in particular the Convention Centre – a grand function space catering for up to 400 guests, which will be complete by mid-October 2016. The refurbishment includes:

  • The installation of special soundproof, acoustic backed walls, rated RW50, which is the highest available in Australia. The walls allow for ultimate flexibility with the ability to split the large ballroom into 6 individual rooms and various other configurations to suit any event.
  • The Installation of state of the art air-conditioning and lighting systems featuring the latest technology in responsive and customized controls.
  • A comprehensive upgrade of fixtures and fittings designed to create a more ambient space that includes new carpets, curtains, fresh paint with and contemporary colour palette.

A new Lagoon Pool Marque has also recently been added to the property catering for up to 800 guests in a unique poolside setting that is already proving popular for weddings, conferences and special events.

Foodies will welcome a delicious new lunch and dinner menu and a refresh of the dining venues in keeping with the new overall look and feel of Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort.

Chief Operations Officer of Oaks Hotels & Resorts, Mr Mike Anderson, said the Resort would greatly benefit from the transformative upgrades that will appeal to a broad range of leisure and corporate travellers.

“We are delighted to continue with our extensive refurbishment program at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort. We anticipate these upgrades will certainly enhance our guests’ experience and reinforce the property’s position as one of the Hunter Valley’s leading leisure, conference and wedding destinations.”

Located just two hours’ drive from Sydney and close to the Hunter Valley’s most popular attractions and experiences, Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort boasts 136 villas in a range of One, Two, Three and Four Bedroom configurations, and features three swimming pools, tennis courts, a championship golf course, onsite restaurant and bar, gymnasium, and seven versatile function venues.
