Welcome to Melbourne
Melbourne Accommodation & Hotels
What happens when you mix world-class coffee with street art that'll make you stop mid-stride? You get Melbourne, known as Australia's cultural playground, that's got more personality than it knows what to do with.
Tucked around the gorgeous Port Phillip Bay, this city's got everything from laneway bars you'll stumble across by accident (the best kind) to markets where you can taste your way through the weekend. Whether you're here for business, planning a family adventure, or just need to escape somewhere that gets as excited about brunch as you do, we've got your accommodation sorted, including some of the most relaxed serviced apartments in Melbourne, Australia.
Melbourne's the kind of place where you can wander through the Royal Botanic Gardens in the morning, hunt for vintage treasures at Queen Victoria Markets in the arvo, and still have energy left for the city's legendary nightlife. Trust us, the local restaurant scene alone is worth the trip – and don't get us started on the coffee (actually, do get us started, we could talk about it for hours).
The Right Hotel to Stay in Melbourne CBD
You'll find our hotels in Melbourne right in the CBD and Southbank. We're talking Oaks Melbourne on Collins Suites, Oaks Melbourne on Market Hotel, Oaks Melbourne Southbank Suites, Oaks Melbourne on William Suites, and Avani Melbourne Central Residences.

Which means less time getting there and more time discovering what makes Melbourne tick. You can go ahead and tick “Melbourne accommodation” off your list. With Oaks, you’ll be sorted.
But there’s more. If you’d prefer to stay outside the CBD, we’ve also got fantastic alternatives for you. Check out Oaks Melbourne Flemington Suites, Oaks Melbourne St Kilda Road Hotel or Oaks Melbourne South Yarra. Just pick one based on your needs and preferences.
So, what's the plan? Actually, scratch that – half the fun's in not having one.

WRAP on Southbank - AustraliaWhat is Melbourne most famous for?
Melbourne is famous for being one of the most liveable cities in the world and Australia's cultural capital. It blends culture, urban landscapes, and a laid-back Aussie vibe.
At Oaks Hotels, we have the best accommodation in Melbourne, so you can live the city high life to the fullest.
What is the weather usually like in Melbourne?
Get ready for chilly winters and moderately warm summers, ranging between 6ºC to 26ºC throughout the year. But as the saying goes, expect four seasons in just one day.
The best time to visit is probably summer, from December to February. Coming during another season? Pack an umbrella and a few layers.
What are the best places to visit in Melbourne?
If there’s one thing you shouldn’t skip in Melbourne, it’s walking through its laneways, from the street art of Hosier Lane to the cosy cafés on Degraves Street.
Try Queen Victoria Market, and wander through fresh produce stalls, sample local food, and soak up the weekend buzz. From there, take a stroll around the Royal Botanic Gardens, or cross the river to visit the National Gallery of Victoria.
Another Melbourne must-do? Melbourne Zoo is a winner for families and it’s just a shot walk from Oaks Flemington. PS: Just in case you want to explore this option too!
Our Oaks hotels and serviced apartments in Melbourne are set in key parts of the city, offering convenient access to its main attractions.
What food is Melbourne known for?
Melbourne is wonderfully multi-cultural and has a cool, European feel, with that inimitable Aussie twist and some of the country’s very best restaurants are to be found. Locals and visitors heading out for dinner are spoilt for choice with Asian, Italian and Middle East cuisine among many other international options.
We’ve curated a Melbourne foodie guide for you. Don’t forget to check it while you’re visiting.
What are the top annual events in Melbourne?
Melbourne has something for everyone, and its annual events prove it. If you’re a sucker for tennis, you can catch the Australian Open in January. Sports fans can also enjoy the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix™ in March.
If you are more into arts, don’t miss the International Film Festival in August, or the International Comedy Festival between March and April.
Music perhaps? Try the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, held in June.
And of course, there’s the Moomba Festival, the largest free community festival, featuring water sports, live music, and fireworks every March.
How to get to Melbourne?
Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine) offers the simplest arrival: take a taxi, shuttle, or SkyBus. In just 25–30 minutes, you’ll be at the CBD, where many of our Oaks Hotels are located.
The city also has a second international airport, Avalon Airport, located in Geelong (further from the city center). It takes about 40-50 minutes by car if the traffic conditions are good, so make sure to double-check which airport you are arriving at to plan your way to the CBD in advance. But if you prefer staying in that area, we’ve got you covered as well. Check out Oaks serviced apartments in Geelong for more details.
Travelling by train? Southern Cross Station connects the city with Sydney and other regions.
How to get around Melbourne?
Getting around Melbourne is simple; use the Free Tram Zone and travel around the city centre at no cost. For trips beyond the CBD, you can use Melbourne’s public transport with a reusable myki card, which works across trains, trams, and buses throughout the city.
Where to stay in Melbourne?
Melbourne has many multicultural neighbourhoods, each offering its own character.
The Melbourne CBD is one of the best places to base yourself. For a more classic Melbourne experience, Collins Street is an area full of heritage buildings, boutique shops, and cafés.
If you prefer a central location with a slightly calmer feel, Market Street offers a quiet pocket of the CBD.
And for travellers who enjoy a blend of city convenience and open spaces, the St Kilda Road district is an excellent option. Close to the Royal Botanic Gardens and the arts precinct.
What type of accommodation does Oaks Hotels offer in Melbourne?
Our serviced apartments in Melbourne; give you the space and comfort of home, with the convenience of being right in the heart of the city.
