The Australian Longboard Surfing Open, a surfing event where longboarders compete and showcase their skills.

There are two main nearby airports, either flying into Gold Coast Airport (OOL) which is only 15 minutes drive from the town or Brisbane Airport, around a one to two-hour drive, depending on traffic conditions.

You can always rent a car or take a transfer or taxi from both airports. Just make sure to allow some extra time when planning your holiday.

To get around town, you can easily walk the main streets and beaches or cycle along the coastal paths. To explore the Tweed region, you can use the public buses, take a taxi or rent a car for more flexibility and including visits to nearby destinations like Brisbane or Byron Bay.
