Oaks opens seventh hotel in Melbourne

Seven really is the magic number for leading accommodation provider Oaks Hotels & Resorts, a division of Minor Hotels, who is strengthening its presence in Victoria with the opening of its seventh Melbourne property, the new-build Oaks Southbank.

Located on City Road in the vibrant dining, entertainment and arts precinct of Southbank and located opposite the glittering Eureka Skydeck, Oaks Southbank features 87 keys and rises over 37 floors, presenting guests with outstanding panoramas of the lively city, urban skyscrapers and, in some instances, glimpses of a true Melbourne icon – the Yarra River and its picturesque tree-lined banks.

Developed by LK Property Group and designed by Artisan Architects, Oaks Southbank boasts an eye-catching white, black and gilded façade, blending with industrial-style textured concrete and metal components that give the tower a striking skyline presence.

The property comprises a selection of stylish One and Two Bedroom Apartments, featuring timber flooring, stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies and a sleek design. The apartment interiors reflect a sophisticated style, which extends from the bedrooms to the well-equipped kitchens, complete with stainless steel appliances and glass splash-backs, and light-and-airy living and dining areas embellished with plush rugs and essential comforts. Guests also have the added option to choose from a ‘Standard’, View’ or ‘Executive’ style room.

Guests travelling for pleasure will relish Oaks Southbank’s coveted location, enjoying a prime position within easy reach of Southbank and the city’s greatest attractions, including world-class hospitality venues, Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex, Melbourne Aquarium, National Gallery of Victoria, Federation Square, and the premier shopping hub of Bourke Street Mall. Business guests will meanwhile appreciate the property’s close proximity to the CBD and Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. The property also features a 24-hour reception and Wi-Fi access.

Chief Operations Officer of Oaks Hotels & Resorts, Mr Mike Anderson, commented, “We are delighted to unveil our newest Victorian property, Oaks Southbank, and reaffirm our presence and position as one of Melbourne’s largest accommodation providers.

“Now with seven properties spanning the CBD, Southbank and South Yarra, we are pleased to provide guests with even more choice when it comes to contemporary, self-contained accommodation in key locations across Melbourne, well suited to those travelling on both business and leisure.”

Oaks Southbank is offering an opening special from $185* per night (minimum two night stay), including accommodation in a contemporary One Bedroom Apartment, plus a bonus midday late checkout and free Wi-Fi. Terms and conditions apply, subject to availability, minimum two-night stay; rate applies to Sunday – Thursday nights.
